Sign up today for our 2013 summer camps! Scholarships are available and can be applied for during the online registration process. All camps are 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday. Week of July 4th, camp is held Monday through Wednesday.

In 2012, over 200 children participated in our camps, and over 20% of them received a scholarship. Please contact us if you would like to donate to our Summer Camp Scholarship fund and help children explore, eat and play at a local organic learning farm.

This camp will explore the wetlands while we learn how to squawk, buzz and ribbit just like our wild animal friends. Campers will learn how to walk like a chicken and gobble like a turkey as they help to feed and care for our flocks. We will whisper to the worms and daydream with the dragonflies. |

New in 2013 This is a berry delicious week to be on the farm! Our rapsberry bushes will be in full harvest. We’ll make berry pies, berry popsicles, berry salads, and lots more berry snacks. How do the honey bees help make our berries? We’ll figure out their secrets and explore more farm critters. Campers will learn how to make berry jam, we’ll have garden jam music sessions, and everyone will find a surprise in a berry scavenger hunt! |

Hooray! The week of the Fourth of July usually marks the beginning of the really hot days of summer, so let's celebrate. We will play games, make music and food, eat together and explore the farm. Don't worry, we will remember to take some breaks to make art, listen to the birds, and reflect on what makes summer so special. Wow is there a lot to be done on the farm this summer! Zenger Farm is a great place for adventure; campers will get to know all about the farm while they become the farmers, helping tend to the vegetables, checking in on the animals and making sure the wetlands are staying wild. With all that hard work comes a healthy appetite, we will take some time to relax and make snacks from the vegetables we grew ourselves.

This week of camp we will delve into the mystical world of those living things that make their own food with sunlight, give us oxygen, food, shelter, and medicines. We will learn about myths, legends and plant science as we harvest, craft, and produce potions to take home!

Local, fresh, organic? Of course! Have you ever wondered how to make delicious food for your friends and family? Ever wondered where your food comes from? Each day we will harvest fruits and vegetables straight from the farm and prepare delicious delights to eat with our new camp friends. We will learn what fresh food tastes like as we cook our way through the week. Each week of camp will feature different produce, based on what is in the fields.

This week at camp will be all about our crawling friends, campers will search out bugs, make bug habitats, and practice being a bug Bring your magnifying glass and a gentle sense of adventure as we enter into the world of "bugs" and find out what those little animals do all day on the farm.

New in 2013 Did you know most of the things we think of as vegetables are actually fruits? Zenger Farm grows over 70 varieties of fruits and vegetables, and this camp is a true fruitarian’s delight! Campers will receive official Fruitopia access to the bounty of the farm. To get their certification, campers will learn all there is to know about fruit, including how botanists define what a fruit is, when to pick it for maximum fruitiness, and how to make it into delicious dishes! Come ready to dive into the juicy world of sun-ripened fruit! |
