We are a working urban farm that models, promotes and educates about sustainable food systems, environmental stewardship, community development and access to good food for all.

We had a fantastic Summer Camp season in 2009! Over 90 children participated in our camps, and over 20% of them received a scholarship. Please contact us if you would like to donate to our Summer Camp Scholarship fund and help children explore, eat and play at a local organic learning farm.

New this Year: Harvest Camp for youth entering 7th – 9th grade in fall 2010
Harvest Campers explore Portland area farms! Campers we will travel to other farms in Portland and get an up close and personal look at what food is growing all around us. We will pick up a lot of cool plant facts and definitely eat some of the harvest!

$270.00 per child per week, Monday through Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm. Includes transportation to other local farms and some snacks.

 

 

Counselor In Training Program for youth entering 10th - 12th grade in fall 2010

Counselors In Training (CITs) get the opportunity to understand the workings of an urban farm, receive training in the basics of environmental education, and help lead Zenger Farm Summer Camps for youth. They attend a training session, and then help lead a minimum of two camp sessions over the summer.

First year CITs $150.00, Second year CITs $90.00. Includes optional CPR and First Aid training.

 

 

Farm Camp for youth entering 1st - 3rd grade in fall 2010 

Farm Camp is full - please contact us if you would like to be on the waitlist. 

Farm Campers spend a week exploring Zenger Farm’s fields and wetland. They help out around the farm, eat fresh picked snacks, and meet some of the wild and farm animals that call Zenger home.

$235.00 per child per week, Monday through Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm.

 

Cooking Camp for youth entering 4th – 6th grade in fall 2010
Cooking Camp is for the food enthusiast. Campers spend the week at the farm harvesting, cooking and eating the bounty of Zenger Farm. Along the way we will learn about seasonal produce and get our hands dirty helping out on the farm.

$260.00 per child per week, Monday through Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm, except July 6 - 9, Tuesday through Friday $216.00.
